Interview Process
The interview was a senior-level technical discussion focused on Appian experience, solution architecture, and real project scenarios. There wasn't any live coding. Instead, the interviewer presented design and troubleshooting scenarios and wanted to understand my thought process, tradeoffs, and why I would recommend one approach over another. Overall it felt more like a technical conversation than a quiz.
Questions Asked
The interview focused on architecture, best practices, and real-world problem solving. Some of the topics included:
- Walk through a complex Appian application you've designed.
- How would you troubleshoot a performance issue?
- When would you use Records versus Process Models?
- How would you design record relationships?
- How do you approach application security?
- Describe an integration you've built and its authentication approach.
- Tell me about a difficult production issue you've solved.
Overall, the interviewer cared much more about technical reasoning and design decisions than memorizing Appian syntax.
